In 2019/2020 I was looking to buy HMOs and guest houses… what it brought home to me was the suffering of people and families in emergency and temporary housing. Regularly I would see mum and dad and three kids crammed in a one room bedsit. See a 45-year-old in an HMO who couldn’t leave his room as the other tenants were all in their 20s and shall we say ‘in a very different lifestage’.
At the same time, friends were asking me how they could get into property as a plan B. Something I had historically resisted as my background was (and still is) developing.
